Safer Internet Day

By November 28, 2018 No Comments

Safer Internet Day (SID) is an annual, worldwide event, held next on Tuesday 5 February 2019, to help encourage a better internet. This year’s theme—‘Together for a better internet’ encourages individuals to create a better internet by developing four, critical skills.

We call these skills the 4Rs: Respect, Responsibility, Reasoning and Resilience.

Celebrated globally in 130 countries, Safer Internet Day is coordinated by the joint Insafe/INHOPE network, with the support of the European Commission, and national Safer Internet Centres across Europe.

There are many ways you, and your organisation, can get involved with SID2019:

  • Include content on your website, newsletters or other platforms
  • Run internal staff events
  • Use #SID2019 or #SaferInternetDay on social media
  • Sign up your class for the free SID2019 Virtual Classroom– coming soon

Whether you’re an individual, school, small business, not-for-profit, sporting club or large corporate we want you to share your support for SID2019.
